let's see the pics of the rear fenders when you get them! I salivate about cutting up a 993 to do a backdate!

(but why stop at 964?)

I'll post pictures of the back side as soon as I get them. The red 930 you see in the background of the first photo is the bases of my RSR conversion. I have not posted about that project because it's been done so many times on this forum. Anyways that's why the 993 is being backdated to RS3.8 and not RSR.

Wow! Amazing. I agree with the other posters - why not backdate to longhood?

I'm not backdating 993 to longhood RSR because I'm backdating my red 930 to RSR look.

The 993 is a '97 Vram Tiptronic. It is mechanically stock for now. I'll begin to modify it after it gets back on the road for while. I'll start another thread for the 930 RSR backdate.

There is a huge difference in the back between the 993 and 964. Like the front, the back of the 993 is much higher than the 964. In addition to the difference in height, the 993 is also a bit wider so the metal work is just as complicated.

I am missing some pictures of the bodywork in the back. I have the above pictures and the finished product. I'll try to find more pictures of the back bodywork before I post photos of the result.

you're going to need to remove the total rear fender, are you not? - all the way to the door, and up to the quarter glass?

No. Actually, the total rear fender does not need to be removed. I replaced the rear part of the quarter panel with one from a 964 and installed new turbo flares. I'll post pictures as soon as I get them from my body guy.

This is great! To my eye, the 911 profile needs to have upright headlight buckets...
