What a labor of love! It would be difficult enough to build a full-sized replica, but in miniature? Absolutely magnificent!

Fascinating...and a little weird, too. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. He really needs Ralph, the motorcycle riding mouse from Beverly Cleary's children's book, one of my favorites from the third grade.

I remember seeing an article on that car a while back in a magazine, maybe road and track?

Pretty darn cool, but I think he needs to get out more...

Cheers

Yes, he out did you Darryl.

I think the F factory should buy it or at least have a reception for the guy. Or maybe hire him.

That's been around for years, but it never gets any less incredible.

I don't even see how what he is even possible! 20,000 hours is a lot of time.

He should put it no eBay, no reserve!

I'm not sure if he should be congratulated, or committed.

Amazing talent and patience.

Thanks for the memory defcon65. I haven't thought about Runaway Ralph for 30 years. Didn't he have half a ping pong ball for a crash helmet?

The clip is from Jeremy Clarkson's Extreme Machines, a pretty good TV series from a few years back now. Pierre even made his own spark plugs for the car and had to learn how to make glass so he could do the lamp lenses - not plastic. I think the gearbox was the only thing he couldn't do due to tooling, and the firm who made the full size version did much of it. He had a lot of help from the factory so they are well aware of his stuff.

Pierre Scerri's website here says he is in Toledo on April 21 & 22, to accept an Internet Craftmanship award. The whole concept and execution is mindblowing, I love it.

That's right, I forgot about that! Remember the passages where the motorcycle sound was written: p-bbb, p-bbb? My teacher could never do that sound right, so when she read aloud and we followed along, I got to do it. What a ham. I may have to visit the children's section of the library and check it out, incognito, of course.
