Trailing arm bolts - how long/what size?
I will be installing rear monoballs this weekend and I plan to remove the old bolts with a sawzall to avoid dropping the engine. However, I'm going to the specialty bolt shop tomorrow to buy replacement hardware for the rest of the suspension and would like to do it all in one trip.
Does anyone know what length and size hex cap bolts I will need back there? Couldn't find this info in the archives!

Usually, these parts diagrams show the parts numbers and size.

Per the '72-3 Porsche parts catalog (which often has more of this information than the '74-77 catalog), you need an M14x1.5x77 10.9 bolt. Suitable nut for same (they call it a Unistop nut in the German version, but just a hex nut in the English version).

Don't they call it a unistop because it's self locking?

Yep, it's a locknut not a common hex nut. Exploded diagram figure even shows the crown on the nut for the locking element. One has to be wary of the parts catalog translations. |

You could also go for the E-Z Pins from Wevo.
They are replacement bolts for the trailing arms to allow removal of the trailing arms without having to drop the transmission. Very Nice for that just in case situation later. I don't have a great shot of them in my car, but you can see them here. ![]() -Britain
