Looking to clean up wiring in engine bay, help?

I am wondering where I should start looking for a good color coded wiring diagram for the engine bay area of my 77 911? The wiring has been doctored a few times by the PO's and I would like to clean up the mess. I figured now would be the time while the engine is out...

I'm mainly just trying to figure out what does what so that I can isolate what I do and don't need from this mess.

Any help is appreciated!

he haynes 911 repair manual has color coded wiring diagrams should be able to order one from your local auto parts store.

You also need to see an underhood restoration job thread done by Fishcop here. If I remember correctly, he installed a replacement modern fuse block and generally cleaned up his entire front wiring system, including paint. Truly impressive and though labor intensive didn't look all that difficult. Anyway, do a search for "Fishcop" as the author.

Check out the wiring diagrams on the home page here. If I remember correctly those are color coded & probably cover your car.
