It's good to know though. Thanks!

My 74 is a couple hundred pounds lighter but I have timed my 0 - 60 at ~3.6 seconds many times. This is not a launch. It is just letting out the clutch and planting my right foot. I do have huge rubber so my car just hooks and flies. My car weighs in at 2382 pounds on the scales with a half tank of gas. The engine is a 23K mile 3.6 out of a 96 but has a 95 intake on it.

When my 78 3.6 vram conversion is done I will be sure to post the times but I suspect it will be similar. my '78 is getting a 96 vram with 50K miles on it. I think it will weigh in around 2500 or 2600 pounds.

You know me too well JG

I dont get slip much with a G50, factory LSD and only 225 rubber - do you get both wheels slipping or just one?

G50 is said to be a bit stronger than the 915 so can take a bit more abuse from the 3.6.

Yes, I have a LSD and the '74 is running 285's. My SC will be running 225's with an LSD 915.

I am doing the 3.6l transplant into my 81' SC, but don't have LSD.
1. Is LSD something I will want to get?
2. Is LSD worth installing onto a used rebuilt (25k miles ago) trans. that came with the car(broken motor, ran hard)?
3.Find a 915 w/lsd in good shape? How much? Where?

I am also thinking of a 933 brake upgrade and running 17" wheels.

LSD in nice to have but not neccessary. Pretty pricey, 2K or more plus labor.

I was lucky and had a factory LSD, but don't think I would fork over the bucks to get it if I didn't.

Hey Mike!
Yeah, probably worth looking into a G50 upgrade rather than investing that much into the 915.
