MFI throttle linkage part questions
Hi. I'm cleaning my 72 MFI throttle bodies up, and they look good with the exception of the throttle linkage lever on the back of the driver's side. The lever has (had?) some rubber or plastic bushings that located it on the shaft, but one has completely disintegrated and the other nearly so. In addition, the lever itself has had the rivet attaching the "input ball" peel back and loosen so the ball can wobble on the lever.
In looking at the parts diagrams here at Pelican, I can find a lever (#11, "reverse lever not for sportomatic") and bushings (#12, "bearing sleeve") that look correct, but only in the '71 throttle body diagram. The '72 diagram doesn't have the lever or bushings listed at all. Does anyone know if these are the correct parts even if they are from the wrong year diagram? And is it possible to repair/replace the loose "input ball", or must I try and source a new reverse lever? Thanks!

Mike,
It's hard to tell from your picture but I think the part you are looking for is called a "Needle sleeve, 12X18X16" located at number 20 on this page. My parts manual lists it as a "needle bush", part #: 999.201.035.00. It is number 53 in the following diagram:

Here is a better picture showing the entire throttle body. The lever with the issues is close to the camera, next to one of the fragmented bushings. In use it would be at the back of the engine immediately next to the MFI pump. The visible ball would be attached to the throttle linkage from the transmission.

OK Mike,
I think the part you are looking for is called "bushing bearing for bell crank" part number: 901.423.253.00. The part doesn't appear to have changed over the years. This first exploded diagram is from the 1964 911 parts manual dated December 1964. The part is number 62 in the diagram.  This second diagram is from the 1973 parts manual (dated February 1974). The part is number 23 in the diagram; it's called "mounting" in this manual (same part number).  Hope this helps.

Mike,
I just had a top end job done on my 72E, and when we were taking it apart, we found bad bushings on the bellcrank as well. For what it's worth, we found that the accelerator lever bushings from the pedal cluster rebushing kit fit perfectly here, as I happened to have a set. Bronze, so once and done. It would have been a real ***** trying to do that with the throttle bodies and MFI pump in place.

That's the part -- thanks guys! I've looked through several years of PP part diagrams and it looks like the bushing part number is the same in all cases, although the "bell crank" lever looks different in some of them.
