Why is it so hard to find a new part listing with pelican.

Seems everything I want to find take 10 tries to find. Thats if I can find it at all.
Im about fed up using pelicans retail search engine. It always seems to come up with 80+ things that have nothing to do with the keyword I entered.

For example I was just looking for a crankshaft sensor for a 1985 944. I even entered the Bosch part # 0261210003 and it shows nothing but wrong items.
Does anyone else experience this? Am I an idiot? I can tell you how many times I went to ebay for a purchase because it wouldnt come up on pelican.

try entering the Porsche part #s, works every time for me, I just ordered 20 or so obscure little things took just a few minutes w/ no fumbling.

What if you dont have a factory parts manual that lists the oem part #?
Most parts do not have that # on them. Worse yet maybe the buyer doesnt have the old part. What do you do in the example listed above(944 crank sensor)?

Given that you have been able to get an electronic copy of PET for free, or nearly so, for the last 5 or 10 years, I think everybody should have one.

I agree, I can't find squat without a part number, so something needs to be changed. Until then, I look up my own numbers. Takes mere seconds.

fuel & intake
reference mark sensor
view in parts diagram
electric equipment-engine 2 ****for the appropriate year and model****

voilla there it is w/ part # and price

took < 60sec

Have you tried using the parts diagram? I use that every time I'm looking for a part.

Agreed...since Wayne put in the parts diagram option...I have very little problems finding parts. I take a guess at where I would find it on my car...reference the diagram, and order. I rarely pay attention to the part number, guess I'm a visual type of person.
