Pelican Brotherhood.......

In a fine case of Pelican brotherhood, yours truly ordered @ $800.00 worth of Wevo goodies, on my credit card, from our host today for another Pelicanite. (in exchange for cash, as in no paper trail!)

You see, he has to hide this purchase from his wife..... Ah yes, I am glad I can contribute to the cause!!

Are you interested in turning a profit? Might be an interesting business venture. Maybe Pelican can start shipping stuff in plain brown packages.

I think it is sort of code we live by.

I think the passion is what keeps us all together helping out be it with parts, advice or otherwise.

Good for you, hopefully she never finds out!!

Cheers

My P-car expenditure spreadsheet is hidden and password-protected. If my wife ever accessed it, I guarantee I'd be without a ball or two.

I keep the spreadsheet here at work and away from prying eyes. If she ever added the last column(which I have been warned by other Pelicans never to do) I would also be without at least one ball.

I don't even want to know what I have "invested" in my track car- much less have my wife find out. I'd have to remodel the whole damn house. Similarly, I don't want to know how much she spends on shoes, purses,etc........

Why is it a woman can have 45 pairs of shoes, and we don't say a thing but buy ONE little itsy-bitsy pieces part for our toy and we're creatins?

It is the old"Venus & Mars" thing. Shoes are relevant to a woman and, in their minds, practical. Cars are viewed only as a mode of transportation.Similarly, anything for the house, washer, dryer, dishwasher is seen as an investment/necessity no matter how many bells and whistles it has.
A buddy explained it to my wife one night. "When he gets the car the way he wants it, the money will stop flowing." Well, I ain't quite there yet & she still just shakes her head when I'm out wrenching.

Probably because its never "one little itsy-bitsy pieces part" is it?

Heck, someone just backed into our daily driver, and although it doesn't look like much, damage came to $1900!

My wife really thinks you can rebuild a 3.2 engine for $600!

Hehe, I've done all sorts of odd stuff for folks. Cash, checks, trades, bust up the purchase on 2 or 3 credit cards ...

I've never understood that phenomenon myself. The family comes first and the car gets the leftovers. My wife is actually the one who told me to buy and build my present car because the car I had would not do what I needed it to do.

What you have to do is currupt them. Granted I'm not married, but because she liked my SC so much, she went out and bought a Boxster on her dime. Now she keeps bugging me about when is the next time I'm going to need parts so she can throw onto the order a few things that she wants for her car. It's not a bad gig.

I overheard my wife telling a friend how much money I have in my '83. She reported about 1/4 of the actual number. I wonder how she got that idea?
