One thing you may want to consider is that there is a resale market for all these components so don't just start cutting and yanking stuff out. I sold ALL of mine after removal and made some nice money to put back into stuff I wanted for the car. I did the same when I changed my Bosch system to a MSD and made even better money off of the stock Bosch stuff to the point it paid for my MSD stuff. Later

does anyone have a suggestion regarding how to remove the compressor bracket without removing the muffler? I removed my compressor last year but have not been able to get the bracket out as the bottom bolt is in an extremely narrow place...cant get any wrenches on it and even if i could, there is no room to move the wrench in either direction

I just removed mine with a stock muffler, it was very tight, I sprayed some penetrating oil on the bolt, gave it a beer break, and then went to town. To start the bolt I took a large flat tip screw driver and hammer and tapped the corner of the nut to get it to turn, then I put some long nose vise grips on the bolt head to keep it from turning, at that point I could reach in with an open end 15mm wrench to get on the nut and after about 5 million microscopic counter clockwise motions I had freed my car of the wretched aberration.

The upper bolt as accessed in the engine compartment was the hard one for me as some one had mangled it. My 78SC only had two mounting bolts.

Stock up on cuss words as you will need plenty.

A/C Removal has begun - a few questions though

A/C delete, nearly there............

These are just a few of the many threads on this topic. I had an AC guy evacuate the refrigerant before I started.
