SANDEN 507 AC Comp
I am trying to get more info on a Sanden 507 AC compressor. If one of you have one could you look at it and look for any labels or #'s that are on it to determine which one it is. I found this one and think this might be it.. Can anyone make a determination or give info off of theirs?
Thanks https://www.acparts.com/product.php?productid=278371&cat=0&page=1&featured

It does not look like the 507 sitting in my garage awaiting installation. The back is vastly different.

The Sanden SD507 doesn't appear to be on that website. Why not call or email them, their prices look pretty good.

The sanden 507 came with the o-ring type fittings or with the flare type fittings. Also the pulley is for the single or dual belt or with the serpentine belt. Mine is like the one that appears on the photo that Joe taked.

and the back cover plate can be changed for one with either flare or o-ring fittings.
it uses a rolled edge metal gasket. |

Dont the early cars require the 508? Can they be fitted with Either the Flange or O ring fitting.. which is preferred?

In my case that I have Webers on my 72 911, the 508 is longer than the 507 for about 1/2" and the compressor would not fit. My brother have in his 77 911 that have CIS a 508 and fits with out any problem. The flare or o-ring type fittings is not a problem. When I installed my 507 I used flare fittings on the hoses, thats why my 507 have flare fittings. I think that the o-ring fittings seals better than the flare ones, the reason is that with the time and with the vibration of the engine, the fittings tends to get loosed a bit. In the o-ring ones, the o-ring is the part that makes the seals job, so the fitting nut just hold the o-ring in place. I notice that when my 507 broken on december last year, was more dificult to find it than the 507 o-ring type one. But note aside, my 507 worked prefecty for about 9 years and daily use. I think they are very reliable compressors and the best of all, they cheaper than the original ones and works great.

What you are looking at in the URL below is a "SD7H15", not the compressor you want for your set up. The unit shown there has "pad" port mounts which are not common hose fittings.
On my 73t we used our 507, no clearance issues with our Webbers (short stacks and low rider filters: PMO can help you out on that end). Most 507's have a two groove pulley (a "2A") and we simply cut off the outer groove so it does not touch the deck lid. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:
