Wires for instruments. I'm an idiot. PLEASE help!

I REALLY need someones help right now.

I need to start my engine after my renovation, this weekend. Everything is perfect, except my small and large combination instrument.

I'm not sure how to connect the wires, because I forgot to mark them when I took them out (big idiot... I know).

I'm using three diagrams to be sure to do it right, but i'm still not sure...

Can you see theese pictures and tell me if i'm doing it right or wrong?

911T - 1971

Thanks guys!

It WAS a green '71.

Now it's light ivory '71.

From a Green(!) '71:

Small instrument-
Solid Green -> Fuel
Green/Grey -> Oil

Large instrument-
Green/Red -> Oil Pressure
Green/Black -> Oil Temp

OK - pulled my gauges out and....

For your large instrument, it compares with mine except for the top (12 o'clock) connections I have a black with white stripe and a brown with grey dot. Below that I have a single black with green stripe.

For the small instrument, starting at 12 o'clock I have a black with blue stripe with a double ground directly below it. To the right of that is the double red/black like yours. Next clockwise I have a solid green, again like yours. Next clockwise is the large fitting and I have a double male spade with a black wire plus the red/black jumpered to it. Immediately to its left I have an empty male spade connector where you show your black wire. Again clockwise the red/black followed by the green/grey like yours.

Sorry for the text description - tried to get photos but couldn't get the camera to make a decent closeup. Hopefully it helps.

Jim

You made an error with the small combi instrument:
- the black wire should not be used a ground (only the brown)
- you used the instrument lighting bulb where the warning light for the fuel level should go. This light is connected to a red/black and the black wire

Does the gauge fry if the wires are wrong, I might have a similar concern on one of my gauges from a 77 911. I haven't put power to it yet. I did make a diagram but one still seems iffy!
