Bouncing tach
Upon shifting, tach bounces more than it did, ought. I have seen this before but don't recall the source. About to fail CD box? Any Ideas.

I think this has been tied to a generator issue, voltage control IIRC.

ground strap on top of transmission. If not that, voltage regulator, in which case check also your battery box for acid spray and corrosion, rinse with 10% baking soda solution and flush with clear water...

Ya, mine does this as well every time I shift. I think it has something to do with a broken spring inside the tack.

The defective damper suggestion sounds as believable as anything.
