951 16 x 8's same offset as 911 variety?
As per the title. Are the 944 Turbo 16 x 8 Fuch's the same offset as the 911 16 x8's?
Thanks Scott |

Wheels
The 944 turbo wheels have a different offset along with a 951 part number where the 930 wheels have a 911 part number.
the bolt holes on the 951 wheel are recessed like the 930 9 inch wheel and tend to be considerably less expensive than the 911 counterpart Bruce |

They have approx. 1/2" more backspacing and the rear webbing is a little different giving it better brake clearance.

No, 911 8x16s are ET 10.6, 944 8x16s are ET 23.3

Fitment on the rear?
Thanks for all the replies. So, if I put them on the rear of an SC, because they have a deeper offset, they will fill out the wheel well a little more (13 MM toward the outside because of the deeper offset), or does this mean I'll want to consider spacers to widen the track a bit and fill out the wheel well?
And, are they forged or cast? Thanks Scott |

yes, the 911 ones stick out 13mm more than the 944 ones of the same width. Some use spacers on 911 SC/Carrera rear to move them out even further, that's an individual choice as is how far to space them. 944 used on the back must use a spacer to fill SC/Carrera flares 944 either 7 or 8 are often used on 911 front for more brake clearance, the 944 8 is the only factory 8" Fuchs that can be used on the front of a 911, the o/s is just barely acceptable for that purpose

What's the better 951 wheel to use in front 7 or 8? Why? Thanks.

I have 951 7s on the front of my car now. I've also used 951 8s on the front. I'd guess 225 tires fit better on the 8s but I have 225s on my 7s and they're fine. My opinion the 8s look better because of the deeper lip. The 8s look similar to 911 7s and the 7's look similar to 911 6s.

Don, can you post some pics please, if possible. I want to see how your 951 7's and 8's fill out your wheel wells. Thanks in advance.

Here are some pics with 951 7s and 8s. The 8s are installed with 5mm spacer. Camber is -2 up front and -1.5 in back. The rears would look better with less camber. The last pic is same set up with 951 8s up front with 9s in back to compare. (the 8's and 9s are for sale btw

Don, thanks for posting the pics, your car looks great. Looks like Marine Blue metalic, my C2 was that color. Loved that color.

I'm not a great fan of the 951 8s on the back. Here they are up front:
![]() ![]() Here are 951 7s up front - I prefer this look: ![]() ![]() ![]() The rears in both pics are 9s.

Does this mean that I can fit 944 7x16 Fuchs with part number 951.xxx on a '89 Carrera 3,2 without doing anything to the car?
