Question Do you like yours Stock, improved or unrecognizable?

I know a lot of you have multiple Porsches, but for the most part do you like you cars..
  1. As Stock as possible
  2. With upgrades to the Performance but no body changes
  3. With changes to the body/look of the car but stock mechanicals
  4. With Changes to the body and mechanicals (Including Backdates)

poll doesn't exactly fit my act

I'm into personalizing the 911. No other car around allows this like a 911 can. My audio works for me. My electrics work for me. My gauges work for me. etc etc. It's different and to most it's just something trick to check out, but not to copy.

I often post "This is what I do"

otherwise a good poll

I voted for the last choice, but that doesn't mean I'd install a V8.

And, the last category doesn't mention "backdates."

My 912 was a hot rod in stock clothing.
My SC's engine was 'massaged' by Jerry Woods when it was rebuilt back in the mid-90's.
I like it just the way it is now.
As my brother said, it's the Honda of Porsches.
I just hope it stays together the way my Honda has.

My car is mostly stock, just like I want it. I did upgrade the A/C and added a bunch of fuses and relays to the electrical system. No one should drive a Carrera without adding fuses to some of the critical systems.

My 1973 coupe is stock. There is a stock 3.2 where there used to be a stock 2.4. And it has stock Carrera flares. And stock aluminum banana arms. And stock 935 mirrors.

Yup- I like my car stock.

Everyone has there own tastes, mine lean towards building a better track car, some factory, some aftermarket....hence the bastard I've created. Fiberglass (IROC bumpers), Carbon Fiber (short hood, ducktail) and a little 993 (3.6 Varioram, brakes). I wouldn't change a thing.... well maybe a turbo down the road and some turbo flares. But that will be another project.

I must say, an upgrade of the mechanicals such as: Carrera Pressure-fed Tensioners, Turbo valve covers. Also, 7Jx16front Fuch wheels with 8Jx16 Fuch wheels on the back. Other than these above, everything else is stock. (83 911SC)

I don't really consider mine upgraded.....just modified to my personal taste....some like it some dont. Here are some before (completely stock) and some after...you decide.

I can't really answer this survey.

My '87 is neither bone stock or heavily modified enough to give it a "new look and feel".

No serious body mods, except custom painted (by me) silver logo wheel caps, the modifications to the rear valance required for a dual-out exhaust, and removing the bumperettes and installing alternate license plate lamps.

No serious mechanical mods except SW chip, fabspeed premuffler, Dansk 1-in-2-out, lowered to Euro ride height, and bump-steer kit.

No serious interior mods except factory-option extended hub steering wheel, custom recovered dash pad, logo floormats, and Porsche-Becker CDR220 audio system (with iPod connector & reversed faceplate).

This doesn't mean there isn't something serious down the road, as the Protomotive stage 1 turbo kit give me pause. But I think it would probably make more sense just to get a 930.

Mine is moving farther away from stock. Some exterior changes and some engine performance upgrades. All are reversible, but I want to have a car that is mine and fits what I want the ultimate Porsche to be. Of course as Milt said, doesn't mean I'd install a V8

Seeing as how this is my first 911 and she is in really nice original condition, I'll keep her stock but damn it's hard to refrain. I'm always looking for just one more improvement. That's what my S60 R is for I guess.

+1

Identical, except RS flares and original mirror in my case...

Oh, and just so it doesn't look too tame, instead of any 'stock' decal at the base of the rear window:

Easy there. You had better get used to opinions.

What i meant was i think it is too simple a poll...too many gray areas with a lot of cars nt fitting into one category.
