I'm a member of Porsche addicts anoynomous. The first stage is admitting you check the Pelican Forms or purchase parts more than you check work email (or personal email for that matter!).

I just used Rustoleum Gloss Black and have felt bad ever since. Sent the wifey to the movies & "baked" them in the oven. Caught hell. Kabuki Theater at our house. Ritualistic almost. Predictable.

Does cutting the rear quarterpanels/flares off so you can better remove old paint in the wheel wells/oil lines count as being anal? I actually cut them off to go narrow from RS flares, but now they flares aren't going on until everything is raw and clean.

Actually, I think that's one of the least anal things I've heard about you doing. Narrow = good.

Now, 911 engine building...

There's no return after the first stage. You can only hope to keep it under control at best.

I had to Google Kabuki Theatre. It is a very close match indeed.

You might still be in the closet. A lot will depend on future endeavours, there might still be hope but don't hold your breath for it.

I think we have ourselves a hardcore anal performer right here. No mistakes. I can picture your grin when you read the title of this thread -->"How anal have you been while in there ?" Something tells me we can learn a lot from you.

I could never be as anal as Al. But I do suffer from while you're in there-itus.

While you're in there carb adjustment.

While you're in there brake job.

While you're in there new carpeting.

It's a sickness...

There seems to be a certain preponderance of PNW folks attracted to this thread....hmmmmm...coincidence? .......I think not......
This is not anal, I just wanted to clean my throttle bodies and next thing I know, I'm at the platers, then I'm refurbing the bodies, then everything else went to the powdercoaters...does the aircleaner look a little dirty to you??? oh well..............maybe i'm a little puckered up.

Kenik and Rich, there is a special couch reserved for each of you at Berni's Counseling
Service. Luckily I do not suffer from such an affliction.

It will come as no surprise that I have a 3 weeks holiday booked in the PNW this July.

Great book so far. Very enjoyable writing style. Tx for the tip.

Hey Al, your car is looking REALLY good!!! Can't wait to see it someday.

Did you end up doing your plating at the place in Kent? I hope you were happy with them...the parts look good. I am having them do some chroming now so I hope that turns out well.

Thanks Chris,
You set the bar pretty high, so I appreciate your comments. Your latest project looks like it's turning out right. The seats are amazing. I'm trying to keep my nose to the grindstone and finish this car. So close... but I'm at that point where I'm doing a lot, then getting sidetracked with life, than back at it again. I did use the platers that you recommended. I'm happy with the results. Let me know how the chrome turns out. i have a few pieces that need chrome plating too. horn grilles, rear window latches, etc. I have local place that i can go to, but I'm hearing mixed reviews regarding their work.
