Can an 83 Valence be replaced with an 85? Without modifications.

Want to replace my 83sc valence with an 85 valence. Will this work and will this bolt right on? Thanks

Yes as long as you plan on replacing the fog lights as well.

Thanks, I just need 85 fog lights, right? And they should just replace my old ones.

You may need to change the washer tank to the newer version that has a recessed area for the fog lights. I put a newer ('84 I think) valence on my '81SC and had to replace the washer tank. Found a used one and everything fit perfectly.

the SC washer tank does interfere with the left carrera fog light body.

And I believe the washer pump is also attached directly to the 84+ style washer tank, rather than being mounted in the trunk.

you might have to bend the horn brackets around slightly to clear the back of the passenger side fog lamp
