Longhood RSR Speedster

Found this picture on the random 911 picture thread and fell in love:

So I did a search for it and found this link on the car for sale: http://www.sprintline.info/uk/automobile/show.php?TYP=Speedster&AREA=porsche

But I thought I'd start a thread on it and get opinions and maybe some thoughts to how it was made? From the interior shot, it looks like a factory Speedster backdated to a longhood RSR:

If one were to have, say, an '87 Targa or Cabrio and wanted to make this car, how difficult ($$$) is it? Are the factory speedster parts even still available?

Some more shots:

Thanks

It's a nice break from all of the RS and RSR clones.

I'd love to do that to my cab...but the windscreen and f/g hump are prohibitively expensive.....even IF you can find them.

There's a thread of one of the members doing this already. It's a white one and looks pretty good. I'll try to post the thread.

I saw another thread that looks like it has a nice project on it from someone names "boba". This is the thread: longnose speedster conversion - opinions?

Must do a search for more of that car...

I was thinking when I posted that picture in the Random 911 thread that it would cause a stir.

I like this one better...highback seats in a longnose just don't look "right" to me.

The last "kit" we bought from LA Porsche dismantlers cost $15k for windshield, wiper blades, doors, factory rear hump with hardware, and soft top...... used

Then the cowl had to be modified, etc etc

If's John's hot rod is well priced, you can't go wrong! its a nice car

My RSR Speedster project continues to move forward.......slowly, very slowly but still it is good to see movement. Too many projects not enough time.

The good thing is that someone told me you cannot die if you still have unfinished projects.

Doug, here is a thread I started a while back. It has a couple of the pics of the car you tagged, but glad to see some more of it. It is a beautiful car and I believe a company in England built it and builds them to order. Heck... just move!

Ultimate Retro Speedster Thread

I am hoping someone will finally be able to identify the silver with red one in here with the unique chrome/polished trim. Hoping to finally start my project once I get my car back out here from South Dakota.

Bob, as always, your car/project is beyond words.

Hey Bob, good to see you're still at it. Is that at Charlie's shop still?
