AC Hose Question

I am trying to determine if my AC hoses have been replaced on my '83 CAB. The hoses are marked AAFLEX KMSA 100 and 130. Since the one marked 130 is larger I assume the numbers are the hose size. I can't find anything on either AAFLEX or KMSA. Anyone know if these are original hoses?

I have a 1980SC, just pulled all the a/c stuff over the last couple weeks. The large black hose running down the pass side is marked A-13/02-CODAN-150 04-1978/46.

The hose is deffinately old, its very hard/dry with age and the ID markings are in a red inkish type of stamping that are very difficult to see. It looks 30 years old.

That's all I can tell you. Hope it helps.

From an old thread:

"All the refrigeration barrier hose I've dealt with (Goodyear, Dayco, Parker, etc.) has been marked periodically with either SAE J2064 or IMACA 320 (sometimes both) along it's length.

Other than the above noted marking, barrier and non-barrier A/C hose looks pretty much the same from the outside. If one looks at the end of the raw hose (no fitting crimped on) one can see the barrier layer in barrier hose - looks to be a type of nylon.

Bending too sharply or crushing the hose flat will damage the barrier layer. Also, using the wrong fitting crimping dies (such as hydraulic hose or fuel line dies) can cut through the barrier in the fitting area, causing a leak.

Some other clues: OEM hose with flare type (non-oring) fittings is almost certainly non-barrier. Also probably any A/C hose made and installed before 1990 or so is non-barrier."

There is now also a verson called reduced barrier hose which has a smaller outside diameter but with the same inner diameter. Given the vintage of your car I will conjecture it has the non-barrier type hose.
