Mark: McMaster has black ducting in a variety of inside diameters. Rather than go through the hassle of painting the tubing, why not order something in black so you don't have to worry about chips, peeling, flaking, etc.?
Nice work. Your a/c ingenuity is impressive!

Life is good. Adding another data point to the archives.
The sun came out yesterday and began to evaporate 7 straight days of rain and local flooding. 88 degrees and sunny on the commute home and humid as balls! I put the temp setting on max cool to see how low I could get the vent temps and left the fan speed at 50%. Vent temps dropped steadily and then leveled out and held at 33.3 degrees. PVC elbow at bowtie outlet is icy cold to the touch. ![]() The green wire you see in the picture is to prevent the elbow from slipping off the bowtie nipple. I've got a screw on the elbow...the wire wraps around this screw on its way to the bowtie hex bolt on the other side. ![]()
