PB Performance Chip
Anyone got any experience with these?
I mean, they are cheap, they must be good, right? This claims it removes the speed limited, I didn't know that 964s were speed limited, mine doesn't seem to be... what should they be limited to?

Is saving $350 worth the chance of a $10,000 engine rebuild? Most likely RPM limited. Steve Wong is the place to go for a performance chip. You know what you get with the SW chip. Check it out here http://911chips.com/c2chips.html
And yes I have a custom SW chip and he knows his stuff....

So you're saying that you never tried the PB chip then?

No and never ever would. What octane is the map set for, with or without cat or pre-muffler? There is no information about how this chip is setup for your car. On the 964 there is knock control but if the maps on this chip have the engine detonating the computer will retard the timing any way, nothing gained. You could get the chip and go to the dyno and check it out to see if there is HP gain and the A/F ratio are where they are safe then you would know. There is a lot more to a good chip then just the hp gains, a chip should also make the car more drivable through the entire RPM range..
IMHO just not worth the risk on an unknown product.

I agree w/ 88-diamondblue, Steve W. is a known quality chip provider, Great Service Great products that work!! Why go elsewhere, unless you just like being experimental.

I don't know, I have not tried it.
I've had OEM, Weltmeister, and MaxHP. Its SW CHIP, hands down for me. Hell for $24, try it and let us know.
