front sway bar mounting tabs

I want to install a front through the body sway bar, so went out to check if I already had mounting tabs. What I have don't look like any pictures I've seen here in researching this. Can anyone tell me just what the heck these are?

Those look like the loops to hold a front underbody sway bar in place.

The Smart Racing Sway bar comes with tabs to mount it on the a-arm. The Tarett requires you to buy the tabs and have them welded to the a-arm.

Does that mean my a-arms have been transplanted from a later car?

Those are the tabs for the under body sway bars used on later cars. If pic is of your LH then the a-arms have been replaced with later arms. There's a "kit" that replaces those with the earlier mounting tabs available from Pelican. I'm upgrading my sways on the SC and have that kit. Just need to cut the existing tab off, drill hole through a-arm and use the bolt supplied with the kit to mount tab. Can also be welded in place like those.

Yes. The underbody front sway bars appeared in 1974.

Look at the cross bar that holds the A arms. On a 72 it was steel. 74 and later were alloy. Also, look at the spacing of the bolts that hold the brake calipers. I think the 911T had 3" space, later cars and S models had 3.5". And, look at the thickness of your rotor. If it is 24mm you probably have a front end off an 84 or latter Carrera, if 20mm it is a74-83 911 . Lastly, are you calipers made of cast iron or alloy?

PS, stock 86-89 front sway bars are 22mm and inexpensive but not addjustable.
