I think I will order one of these repro mirrors to replace my current one. It is the genuine article but sometime in its life it has lost the chrome cover on the stem and base. Will post photos when it arrives. The only Garage Madorin in Basel now is Madorin & Pellmont, where my wife bought her Renault. My car was originally supplied to Italy, spent a bit of time in UK and then Canada. Regards Steve |

Just as a heads up for those of you working with these mirrors. The mounting base piece and the middle "stalk" piece that attaches to the mirror housing are the SAME on both the 72/73 style and the 74-76 version. It appears that they just decided to make the mirror bigger but left the rest of the design alone. This opens up a few more options for those of us (like me) who may be trying to put together one good 72/73 mirror assembly from a pile of used parts...
