1983 SC A/C delete questions

I have attached a few picx of what remains on the car.
1. To begin with, in the smugglers box, what does this relay operate? If only a/c related, I want to remove it.
2. In the smugglers box, do I need to cover/block the qty. 2 ~3" wide old a/c pipes... or possibly join them together or what??
3. The pic of under the dash, as taken from the passenger side, does anything need removing or working on besides replacing the broken ~ damaged tan/alum ventilation hose??
4. Lastly, what is the black plastic ribbed tube in the 1st pic... can this be removed??

Thanks a lot guys for all of your help here!!
Bob

The top pipe is routed to the center vents.
Not necessary but you can convert them to blow fresh air: Fresh air through center vents

That's the drain tube for the fresh air blower -- water entering through the cowl vent is channeled/drained there. You should NOT remove it.

MrScott... thx for that info... another project for when I get some time!

James Brown... yes I will cover the hole where the resistor was in the passenger footwell. Can you tell me what that last circuit breaker in the smugglers box is for?? That is the one you say I can remove, right??

Anyone have any good ideas on how or what to use to cover the holes in the smugglers box??

Thanks!
Bob

The relay in question is only for the A/C and can be deleted.

Thanks Pete for the conformation on the relay being part of the a/c. That will be pulled today!
