are you going to Palooza Kiwookie? There always seem to be a large contingent there from Tulsa...

Shane, I have heard great things about the Palooza weekend but unfortunately I will not be able to make it. I have two kiddies under the age of 4 thus weekend getaways are a thing of the past, at least for now.

Houston, we have color

A beautiful coat of Arrow Blue single stage Glasurit arrived this week and it was worth the wait. A week to fully cure, block sanding to a high gloss and then the reassembly can begin.

The doors were painted off the car but hung back on before it was moved out of the paint booth. It is surprising how many parts needed to be painted separately - bumper extensions front and rear, gas filler cap, torsion bar covers etc.

Original Color

The original color of your car was black right? In looking at the re-paint photos it appears the sills, engine compartment, etc are blocked off. Are you not painting these that gorgeous blue? Just wondering since I have decided to keep my car the original color exactly because I do not want to paint everything!

Thanks

Tom

I did seriously consider backdating but I could not find a donor SC in any of the colors I was interested in (arrow blue, continential orange, lime green). Unfortunately my budget did not stretch to a backdate and a color change.

I chose black for a donor car as I was not planning to take it back to a tub and black would be the most palatable color to leave the front trunk and engine bay. The doors were painted off the car and the interior was taped off where the door rubber sits, so the sills and door jams are the same color blue as the exterior but you cannot tell from the photos. I will probably paint the front trunk and the engine bay with black POR-15 to tidy it up but that will be some time in the future.

Thanks! Yeah I am itching to get it back on the road at this point. I have to tell myself not to rush it or I am likely to screw it up I hope to have it finished by Christmas which I think is a reasonable goal. The interior will be the make or break item from a timing point of view since the headliner has to go in and the dash needs to be recovered and installed before the windscreen.

Hi, I've just signed up to PP having lurked here for a while.
Here I am searching for inspiration for my own project, and I stumbled onto your thread. I've come the opposite direction though, i started on impactbumpers.com and have recently bought an Arrow Blue SC as a base. You won't be surprised to hear I'm not changing the colour though!
Your car looks and sounds fantastic and I'll be following this build closely. I can't wait to see the end result

You are very lucky to find an original arrow blue SC. From my search I concluded it is an extremely rare colour. There is one guy (FXM) on impactbumpers with a lovely arrow blue SC. I think he is in the UK. He was kind enough to send me some pictures of his car which sold me on my final colour choice. On the SC registry there were a couple listed. You need to start a thread about your car

Thanks and sorry for the hijack. Mine's no garage queen, but it appears a basically sound car with loads of potential and I love the colour. I've seen pix of FXM's and I won't be parking alongside his anytime soon!
I need to decide how i'm developing it before i can start any useful threads, but here's a taster:
