durr.. I didn't even look at the dates. I guess I forgot I had searched when I replied. (I got distracted.)

Glad to hear your issue was fixed. Time to fix mine. I'll start with cleaning up the magnets when I yank the engine out here soon, and if that doesn't fix it I'll move on to testing the cable found above.

Just put the motor back in my 87 911 after 18 months. Odometer is not working. Anyone experience this?

Odometer or trip odometer? Sometimes the reset button doesn't come all the way out and it won't turn over. See if will come out with a little help.

Does the speedometer work? If so it is the little $25 gear. Every Porsche of this vintage will probably see this failure sooner or later.

Speedo OK. Murphy's Law right, odometer was working fine before the car went to sleep for 18 months. Need to pull the steering wheel to repair turn signal (high beam) switch. Good time to address the wonky plastic gear. Hopefully that's it vs. the magnetic sensor pick up etc. etc.
