71E resto update - It's out..1st time in two years

Well,
I've finally got my 71E out of the garage, under it's own power. Runs great, but I still have some details to finish. Clutch adjustment, brakes bled, windshield wipers, interior details, etc. It was rainy today, but next weekend will be sunny, so if I have time to do the clutch and brakes, I'll take it out for a little shakedown. This is a milestone....I'm a happy camper.

Regards,

al

P.S. pardon the poor cell phone pix, but my camera bit the dust.

Two years?! What is it with you people around here and these quick turnarounds?

Looks great. Keep the camera around. Mine died but rose from the dead months later. No kidding.

before

Herman,
Here's a before pic. This was the condition, when I purchased it as a roller. The matching numbers engine/tranny were included.

Regards,
al

PS: search the forum, using my name, and you will find many before and during resto pix.

Looks great, silver long hoods really are classy. Job well done.
I like the white letter tires on the before shot as well.

Nice job bringing her back. I hope you have a nice summer ahead to enjoy the results of your efforts. I hope you preserved the raised white letter tires, they will be collectible some day!

Beautiful job Al. Your silver E looks so good I had no idea the picture was from a cell phone. Two years of passion really paid off.

That's the beauty of this forum. A shared base of knowledge and talent, coupled with an appreciation and understanding of what it takes to go from before to after. Thanks for the help.

It is such a great feeling when you first fire a car like this and it moves under its own power. Great job putting another one back on the road!

Al,
Bryan here ( I work with Keith B.)
Great to meet you and Tony at the Walker Swap meet this morning! It was about time, between Kenik and Keith telling me about your crazy motor projects. And I mean crazy in the good way in which makes my eyes glaze over. I really want make it up north a bit to see your latest creation.

Here is my 2.7 pile of parts I hope to start in on soon. I am sure I will have to ping you and all the other great minds on this site with a question or two, especially since I am not going to go in a stock direction with the build.

Beautiful '71 btw. Congrats on the resto!
