Grady thanks for all the great info. Can you give us any insight as to when we will get the whole story? Have you or any other professional seen the engine?

Joeaksa 03-05-2010 05:11 PM

Just found the thread, been flying the past days.

Great to see and glad that Grady is helping with this one. Hope Uber has the car as well!

The Aeronca is a fun thing to enjoy on the weekends. Yes, am a commercial pilot. Usually fly a Challenger 605 for a private company.

Congrats! Looks like you have something very special that several very wealthy people would love to take off your hands.

Kenikh, you are killing me.. What a great sound.

daepp 03-06-2010 11:00 PM

I heard one this weekend for the first time. Ihave known about them for many years, just never lucky enough to be around one.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be at Autokennel when a very obliging gentleman started up his 4Cam Carrera 2 356. In my mind, it was a combination of my older brothers' VW's and my mother's Singer sewing machine. A wonderful sound - I will try to post my short video of it.

That reminded me of the beginning of the movie "Breathless". (Richard Gere)

"Come on, you little baby Porsche! Come on! Come on!"

Good one, tazzieman. Four-cams start out sounding just like some old VW Bug -- but then they keep revving... and revving... and revving...

That's a great analogy. I think you described it very well.

uber sent more images.

Here is the question for all that might know:

Do the numbers appear to be ‘Factory stamped’ or
stamped on a spare-part replacement case?
Other?

Please only post if you have first-hand knowledge, pictures or some documented source.
Opinion “Looks like ….” doesn’t help.

If you know someone who might have knowledge
or information, please alert them to this thread.
