Help with J&E Rings (cross post from engine building forum)
I received a set of rings from J&E with my pistons.
The top ring set and the middle ring set look exactly the same. Shouldn't the middle rings be channeled or have a step in it? Like the stock middle rings? The set was sealed and one package was labeled top, the other ones were stacked together however I see no difference between the top and middle rings. The set I have is: JE Pistons Part#: J612U6-3858 Product Type: Ring - Set Description: 1.5-1.5-3mm RINGSET TOP&2ND TAPER FACE IRON / 1PC OIL I may have mixed the rings as I was measuring end gaps and cant see any way to tell them apart. From Troy at EBS: They are the same ring. From J&E: They are the same ring. From Charles at LN: same rings. Just in case anyone else runs into this issue.
