Hey Fred, It's a shame to see a TT in the rain. Be a good neighbor and offer him a stall at your house.

I'll offer my garage next to my 88 Targa.
I'll put my 2002 PT Cruiser on the street.

i had the pleasure of testing driving a '97 twin turbo 2 years ago. up until that day, i was interested in buying a ferrari. that experience changed my mind.

i was absolutely astounded with the acceleration. the salesperson drove the car on the street as if we were on the racetrack. at one point, we must have been going 120+ MPH and came upon traffic. i truly felt the car still had 40 - 50 MPH of acceleration left in it.

the salesperson hit the brakes at the moment that i was sure we were going to rear end the car we were approaching. the car decelerated in a split second.

i was floored, to say the least. and frankly, i was sold. 2 months later, i bought my '911 speedster, and 6 months ago, i bought my '73 911E.

i would like to own a TT someday. it is an amazing car.

A 993TT donor engine and transaxle will still set you back about 25 grand, but I've always thought it would be a cool swap into an early car.

Some day.

dream car

993 tt is epitome of Porsche design, IMO, only thing more impressive than the accelleration and handling is the braking. 0-100-0 in what was it, 12-13 sec.? Road&Track said, "that does not include time it takes to put your eyeballs back in sockets. Car stops just short of doing reverse-wheelies."

I think that it's my favorite car ever. Just all about power & grip, Stuttgart-style.
