Which shifter is better Wevo/Rennshift
I want to purchase a shifter. Can anyone provide feedback on what they've found good and bad between the two products our host sells, Wevo/Rennshift? Would you prefer the extended shifter that Rennshift sells?

With the Wevo you have to reuse your current shift housing
Rennshift is a complete unit Great feedback all over this board about both of them, I have the Rennshift and like it very much.

No, your an ass for not buying!!
And if you couple it with a Wevo or other coupler, you have the best you can get. And change the bushings.

I just did the same search before rebuilding that 915-one thing I didn't find on the boards was that Rennshift also sells a package that include the shifter and the shift coupler together for $660. Worth considering when you're redoing the whole shifting system.

Once properly adjusted you should see a marked improvement in shifting!

After searching I noticed you had a parts issue with your purchase of the Rennshift. I hope that doesn't happen to me.

I purchased the Rennshift, then within a week of installing it purchased their coupler. I don't think you should do one without the other in my experience. The shifter tightens up the tolerances, which exaggerates the looseness of the coupler. The two together shift almost as good as my newer Audi. Well worth the money. Your going to feel like you just put a whole new transmission in your car! Tech support from JWest was great too.

Well I would have said buy the Hargett. My '72 915 updated with the omega spring and the Hargett shifter is easier to deal with than my Ruf 3600S. And Mark is a great guy. But if you already bought one of the others, it'll be better than what you had.

I'm literally moments away from ordering a Rennshift and saw the coupler comment. I already have new bushings ready to replace when I do the install, is it a waste to redo the bushings over installing the rennshift coupler?

The Hargatt shifter is more for racing but wow, that would look great! And I think it's hard to keep the parking brake. or the back seats.
![]() Or you can make a stand for a rennshifter.
