A/C compressor switch

Has anyone installed a separate A/C compressor switch in their 911? I would like to be able to use the evaporator fan to circulate air through the main dash vents without engaging the compressor. The fresh air system is basically useless in getting any reasonable airflow in the car. My Miata had a separate button that was pushed to engage the compressor and a rotating knob that varied the fan speed. Can that be done with our systems.

I did a simple cutoff switch for the compressor. Just put a toggle switch on one of the wires going to the compressor. When I flip that switch the compressor can't run. Then I can run the AC fan which blows right on me. It does not blow cold air but it blows.

The only time I use it is during autocross or DE sessions. I always run it at MAX fan speed.

If you turn the temperature switch fully CCW, it clicks and the compressor turns off.

You can splice the switch in either the green wire going to the thermostat switch or the green/white wire exiting the thermostat, or as Brian suggested you could play with having the thermostat set at one click to the right of the off position.
