Help me identify this yellow

Hello,
I recently acquired a 1986 Carrera. It's a special order yellow with color code L998, which means it used a previously standard Porsche color. I've had one person suggest that it's sunflower yellow. Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

It looks like a color that VW bugs had/have which they call Sunflower. I do like it....a bit more pastel than the yellow on my SC.

Yes,
It's definitely got some pastel to it. My first viewing of the car was in a parking garage under flourescent lights. And it looked like this:

And then we took it on a test drive and out into the sunlight and it totally changed. I was pleasantly surprised. My wife hates the color but I absolutely am in love.

Yeah, I love it too. Makes me wish I'd gone with it, and I almost did, instead of this:

It definitely reminds me of my brother's 1970 VW bug. I like it also. Steve

Looks a little washed out.. sorta like the "summer yellow" that I have only seen on '87 944s. Sorry no pic to share..

I think I may have just found it by accident in a 912 thread on RL. Is it Bahama Yellow?

My old Porsche dealer in PA had a '75 Carrera that color yellow. I always liked it. Not as bright as some yellows. So perhaps as Carrera Turbo suggested, you've got the same color he does.

Which makes me ask- Carrera Turbo, do you know where your 75's originated? You've got 2 and I know my old dealer had a 75 that color new that he drove for several years until he spec'd himself a 930. Can't be 3 of those yellow '75 Carreras in the states can there? Any chance one of yours originated at Wyoming Valley Motors in Larksville PA?
