I have a 1982 911 SC Targa that I am looking to put 16" Fuchs 951 wheels from a 944 with the larger 23.3 mm offset on to accommodate bigger brakes. I have two questions I am hoping one of you guys can answer. The first is whether 7" 951 Fuchs will accommodate a later update to 993 Brembo brakes, or whether it would take the 8" 951 Fuchs. The second is whether or not I need to change out the stock front hubs to ones with more offset to accommodate either the 7" or the 8" 951 Fuchs. I plan on using a set of 1984 911 Carrera wide-A calipers with matching rotors on the front (and rear) until I can pick up some 993 Brembo calipers, adapters, and rotors down the road.
I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. Jeff 1982 911SC Targa - front end repainting Guards Red |

Both the 951 7's (that look like regular 6's) AND the 951 8's with the 23.3 mm offset will fit over 993 brakes.
ALSO BBS wheels (RSII's) three piece in both 7's and 8's will clear the 993 calipers. Front is where you have the issues. BTDT With 16" wheels - the clearance is ~ 1-2mm - just enough for wheel flex - but you really need to be careful of where you place wheel weights,,,
