I'll say this much for the seller....he doesn't seem to be misrepresenting it. It's pretty crappy alright.
The seats look like cats have been using them as scratching posts. And whats with the bungee cords holding on the air filter cover? Need I go on? No stickers for this poor, neglected SC!

did you guys miss the mileage: 321,402 miles!
How many SCs have you seen on the road with those miles. I would say the car looks great for a daily driver with those miles |

"...late model sport seats..." ??? may be late model, but not sport seats.
If I buy it and get rid of the carrera, can I get a SCWD sticker? I'll need a few dozen though. I'll use them to seal up all the leaks.

OK...I was a little hard on the poor dear.
At least the motor ran long enough to take a picture! This car doesn't need a sticker. It needs a miracle!

It's funny how some would consider $7000 a reasonable price for this POS, and then turnaround and say that a beautiful early T in excellent condition should sell for about this same price????????????????????????? I'll bet it sells. -- Curt

Some would say it could not look more beautiful. I would say that.

I would say the fact that after 19 years and 320,000 miles and it still looks... reasonable, is a testament to the reliability and build of these cars.
In fact, there are still very few cars around capabale of immense milages like that - I think it is quite impressive! |

I've noticed it is sort of a sport to knock the eBay thing, maybe rightly so, but I would spare some credit to the owner of this car. For one, he seems to be pretty honest about it, and moreover 517136 kilometers....whew! His statement that he's got a Carrera, too, well...he sure appears to render justice to the concept of what a "daily driver" would then constitute! Not everyone spends weekends polishing, shining, overhauling, ...

I was almost in the SCWDP, however 911 & porsche world magazine bought the 1981 silver coupe I viewed. It has been featured in a few articles, the one with the red seat belts.
Never had experience of ebay, most feedback on this board tends to "sneer" at the non-beleivers who frequent it. ![]() My '84 with 166,000 mile was in a similar state internally. PO had a 9 stone alsation dog which travelled every day with her up to manchester and back from london each week. Lots of different colour panels on my car as well as a little rust ( I do live on a rainy Island.) This one seems quite honest, nothing obvious hidden like you get in private sales here (ask me how I know) If I could afford it (time AND money) I would have a garage queen...nah, I would be out driving the thing. When it's warm wring it's effin neck ![]()

I don't think you can get to 321K miles without maintaining the car. You guys (not island) are a little too hung up on looks. Maintainance doesn't mean recovering seats, or buying the correct air filter straps. This guy made choices like "do I recover the seats in a car that has over 300K miles, or do I put the money into oil change and valve adjustment." He seems to be honestly representing the car, and providing accurate (non-flattering) pictures. I don't think he'll get $7K for it, but I get the feeling he doesn't want to sell it anyway.
Although my interior is a little better than his, and I still have the original air filter straps, I wish my car looked as good as his, and I hope I can get it to 321K miles.

I agree with Wayne. When I was looking for my car I saw a lot worse with far less miles on the clock.

With a little work this car would be more than serviceable. I'm pleased to see his wheels match too.
