Alternator interchange question???
I have a 1973 911e that has a bad alternator! I found an alternator that fits a 1984-1989. Will this interchange?? I understand I will have to do some rewiring and this one has an internal regulator.
thanks for your help!! |

But, over and above that, you may have a pulley/size/alignment, and mounting/ issue(s). Just have yours re-built by a competent shop, or do an exchange by a competent source. By the way, there is a distinction between re-furbish, and re-build. Good luck, Gerry

I believe one thing you'll find is the depth of the alternators is different. So the fan belt spacing will be wrong.
Do what Gerry said.
