New here, got a question (=

My dad was told today that a man who recently passed has a collection of 20+ porsche from 1970-1982 911's and 914's. He told me dad that they are trying to get rid of them and are taking anywhere from 500 to 1000 per vehicle.

The man claims the engines all run as the man rebuilt the engines and collected them as a hobby, the paint on all of them are pretty faded and obviously need new paint jobs, but the bodies are in pretty good condition otherwise.

He said if I buy one I can get another one for free cause he really needs them gone?!

Anyhow was wondering if you think these would be worth grabbing and restoring/using for parts, from what I have seen they have a decent value if running and not falling apart.

Thanks guys really appreciate it!

We need Pictures and more details. Can you detect a note of skepticism here?

What strikes me as incorrect is the guy dies and ‘someone’ is selling the cars way under ‘market’.

That just doesn’t happen.
Someone must be able to assign title.
That will need attached court papers assigning the ability to transfer title.
If someone is selling for an estate, they have the fiduciary responsibility to get the most value for the cars. If they don’t, they are liable for the ‘difference’ in sale price.
That just doesn’t happen.

Let the original poster (1st post) document his assertion that these cars are being offered at those prices.

Best,
Grady

Sounds great!! I would like to buy any of the cars you do not buy. I will give you $2500 each. Actually, if you would PM me your address I will send you a check for $50,000 U.S., and you just refund me the difference in cash when you ship the cars. I would like to handle the shipping through a secure ebay shipping transaction, to protect both of us.
