Highbeam/lowbeam malfunction

Have '86 930 with hi/lo beam issues. About a year ago every time I put turn signal on to turn headlights would go from low beam to high beam after straightening out. Put a new steering wheel in this year and while steering assembly apart checked the turn signal/ hi-low beam operation. Everything worked fine after repeated checks. Re-installed wheel and everything still was working fine (in garage setting). Drove car several times and upon going thru signaling/turning operation a number of times, the turn operation would put me into hi-beam mode. Very difficult getting back to low beam mode. What is wrong and how do I correct. Can email me at smarlow@nycap.rr.com and respond to this forum both if not an inconvenience. Appreciate any help with this pain in the butt problem. Thanks
Steve

There are several good posts on this subject.

You might want to do a search-Turn signal stalk.

Also, there is an excellent post on cleaning/adjusting the contacts.

Another thought is to install some headlight relays.

Good luck,

Gerry

In the future don't let the 2-3-4 year old play behind the stearing wheel....
