knod socket problem (dashboard)

This is my problem,

I have the 2 knobs in the dash ( defrost & fog lights) and every time I want to use it , the knob stay in my hand ( when pulled) I have remove everything to see if some parts could be damaged but , nothing. It looks like the end of the knob is to short and cannot reach the socket.

What do you think and do I have to change the socket??

Help me please

pelican sells them. I had the same problem and they only list the defrost switch which is the same as the 2 stage fog switch on euro cars. The new switch comes without the knob so yours will be used.

I see that you're in Montreal, try giving a call to nineapart for used switches, they are sometimes just as expensive as new parts though...
Or check with the dealer.

So when you screw the plastic collar down all the way onto the part int he dash- the actual switch-, you still can't screw the knob in far enough to get it to hold?

Yes , this is my problem Group911. No grip at all and the knob look's intact

I have to change both ( defrost and fog lights) . Thanks Roby 466 for the part number. I will compare with nineaparts too.

I bought used switched from these guys. They were reasonably priced and worked great.

Sounds like the internal threads are stripped.
