2.7 911 S engine

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if this is the correct fan pulley for my 1974 911S? The fan belt is extremely loose and I need to know if it is because of the pulley being incorrect? how do you like the make shift coil wire? I got this thing from some hacker!!!!! Thanks for any help guys. I am going to need a lot more as I keep finding things.

That looks to be the correct pulley. How many shims are between the pulley halves? Have you tried to adjust the tension? You should have a total of six shims to move around between the pulley halves and the outside pulley nut to adjust the tension.

To tell you the truth I doubt if there are any shims in the proper location on the pulley. But it is good to know the pulley is correct. Do you know the pulley wrench I need? I have one for my 77 911 but I don't see any holes on this pulley for that tool. Sorry if this is remedial but we all have to start some where.
Thanks for your time.

Me thinks you need shims. If you got a too kit with the car, the pulley tool hopefully is in it - kind of like a two tongued fork. And I agree the pulley looks correct.

I think I see a few shims on there right now. Make sure you have the right size belt, too!

Agree with Gogar, I think I see some shims behind the nut washer, however for a loose belt you will need to remove the shims from between the pulley halves.

Two possible belts, both offered by our host. 10 X 710 by Contitech and 9.5 X 710 by Porsche

thanks for the info. Hopefully moving down the road soon. You should see the ignition system wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Just hideous! in great need of a valve adjustment. Timing was so far advanced it is amazing the car was running. Has me asking, "what have I gotten myself into"?
