Intermittent trouble finding third gear?
I seem to intermittently have trouble finding third gear .... almost like I either find it perfectly or am way of course and end up getting a significant grinding like one spinning gear hitting another. I replaced the shift coupler bearings as well as all the other shifter bushings in 2004 and everything stills looks perfectly smooth with no play. I also just re-adjusted the coupler and can easily find 1,2,3,4,5 and R. The car has 100,000 miles ... second gear dog teeth are slightly worn as its getting a bit finicky but its still pretty good. Swepco tranny fluid too.
Any thoughts?

Hmmmm, have you considered flushing the Swepco and using Kendal 80W90 (with LSD if you have it)
If you do change it will take 2-3 changes to get all the Swepco out after 1000+miles each time. Just my 2 cents, I had shifting issues and now it shifts like a normal car.
