ECU chip question

I know Steve Wong is considered the guru of 911 chips and I'm sure deservedly so, but I was wondering about readers' experience with other brands. I'm specifically curious about Vertex chips. They have a performance kit consisting of a chip (which they tell me is made by Superchips), a cone filter, and a cat bypass pipe for under $400. This seems like a very good deal -- if the chip is comparable to Mr. Wong's.

Any opinions, humble or otherwise.

Here's the short answer: you also don't want the cone filter.

Steve Wong is the way to go. Pelican sells them.

(And you shouldn't post here about Pelican's direct competitors' products.)

I personally wouldn't stray from Steve Wong's chip. With so many positive reviews by the knowledgeable people on this forum you know you're getting a product that is worth the money. Just my thoughts...

Thanks guys, I'll be going with Steve Wong. Sorry about the faux pas, Jack. I'm new to this game. I'm in Northern Colorado. Just bought my first 911, an 85 Carrera coupe. Too much fun!
