CV Boot & Calipers
Hey Guys!
Got two questions.. I've got one of the boots on my driveshaft torn. Need to change it. It's the inner boot vs the diff\transaxle. I've got a 1978 SC, gearbox number 915/61 Is this the correct part? Pelican Parts - Product Information: 923-332-037-00-M84 Then I have a caliper with a slight leak as well. Wondering if there are some simple two pot upgrades out there. Found this on ebay: Bigger discs is not needed I think, but an easy to mount caliper upgrade would be interesting. I do run the tracks every now and then, but not competetive. Thanks! Cheers, Jarle |

The CV boot is simple but way messy, follow the instructions in the Bentley manual. The brake question is harder. Simply swapping in other parts without figuring things like bias, total swept area, pad type, rotor, thickness/diameter, bolt pattern, master cylinder stroke diameter/volume. So many factors. Best to just rebuild the most excellent Porsche calipers.

Yup, looks not to difficult, agree. Do you agree that I've found the correct part? Regarding the caliper swap. I was hoping that there was a simple well proven upgrade that could easily be done. Tried to do some searches, but not many clear answers to be found. According to the ebay add, that caliper could be used as an upgrade, but have anyone on the forum actually tested that? I have some very nice 15" Gotti wheels, so big brakes is not possible. If there are no easy well proven options on this, I'll just do the other upgrades. Better discs, pads and fluid. Thanks for the info! Cheers, Jarle |

It's hard just to swap calipers and not effect the rest of the braking system. I am no expert on brakes but there are experts on here, search them out. Bill V. and Steve at Rennsport are a good start. The boot parts look correct. And the Ebay listing recommends them for the Front caliper upgrade.
