Questions...turbo motor swap into an SC and SC motor in the Turbo

I'm helping a friend do an engine swap and want to know exactly what were getting into. He has a 83 SC cab and a 79 930. The motors will be swapped into the opposite cars. I know we will need to swap the wiring and fuel systems. I think the mounts are different and the trans length is also? Can the 4 speed go into the SC and the 915 go into the turbo? Or should the transmissions be left in the cars they belong in? What else should we be thinking about? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The transmissions wont make the exchange without work. You ll have a time with the turbo engine and trans in the SC , even if you manage to hang the trans the engine sits back over an inch and nothing fits right.

/The turbo engine on the 915 is doable but you have to put a clutch package and flywheel from the SC to fit.

The 3.0 doesnt carry enough torque to run the 930 box and clutch.

The tranny mount is really the only issue other wise it should fit fine. the engine bays of both the 930 or the sc are not of different size and I know countless people that run 930 engines in sc's but typically with 915's though some with 930 gearboxes. Wiring will stay pretty standard though a second fuel pump in the 930 .

thanks for the input. So it sounds like keeping the turbo motor with the 4 speed and the SC motor with the 915 can be done without too much difficulty? Ideally that's what he wants to do if possible. I'd love to hear from someone that has done a swap like this.
