Porsche Crest Need Help Identifing Alternator.

The alternator I took out of my car is the dirty one and I have know idea what brand or amp it is. I bought the other alternator from someone here on Pelican but it is different it to short and my fan belt rubs the shroud. I did make it work but it only wants to charge with running at about 3000 RPM. Can someone till me was Kind,Brand and AMP alternator I need. Could you also identify the alternators I have. My car is a 1976 911S. Thanks

Have you tried to find an auto electric shop in your area. Perhaps they could rebuild your original alternator...good luck.

By 76 the alternators were Motorola. What is the voltage regulator?
There is different back spacing on the fan housings between the years and voltages.

Bruce' The voltage regulator is a Marchal. Does anyone have a good used one. I can't rebuild mine because I broke the top housing trying to get fan off. Thanks Craig.

I believe you can just order a replacement from our host. The smaller of the two alt's is harder to find. I have a '74 and I ran into this last fall...
