Central lock button started to illuminate bright red at all times

Anyone out there know why my central lock button in my 85 Carrera started illuminating bright red yesterday. It doesn't matter if the doors are locked/unlocked or the headlights are on or off... I've had the car almost one year and it has never done this before. Thanks in advance!

It's not at all unusual for a low power incandescent light's filament to partially short out, due to vibration, etc. That will usually shorten the bulb life but in the mean time you get a brighter light.

Thanks for the reply. Will take a look tomorrow. Any idea how to get to the bulb?
