Well, if we compare the 2 readings we can see a pattern right? #4 is definitely suspect.
However, if it was me, I'd put it all back together properly and drive the snot out of it! Maybe you're looking at a rebuild/replace in the future but for now get her sorted and running smooth and just enjoy it! Check that off the list Good job

It will probably run like that, but it might smoke a little. Running it may very well help the compression numbers as well.

well now that i know I can proceed I sat down and started working on the wiring harness. I saw this one wire that didnt look right and it was one of the thermo switch wires..as I peeled the harness apart the wire was just destroyed all the way up to the connector. It was the yellow wire that went from pin one to the thermo switch and the other yellow wire went to the starter.. I have no idea what happened to it.. it looks like it melted and sort of just exploded. the coating was melted and the braided wire was just coming apart. glad i checked it out..
melted and exploded wire.. ![]() I had to take the 14p pin connector apart to fix this properly. you can see the damage ![]() Here is the new wire soldered in place and heat shrink tubing in place.. ![]() These 2 wires are the wires that lead to the reverse switch. The top one I fixed with solder and heat shrink tubing, the bottom one was just how I took it out of the car for reference. ![]()

Buy a compressor that has the motor separate from the pump, not one of those oil-less all in one units. Amongst other things they are quieter.

For some strange reason the PO just sliced thru this bunch of wires and just left them that way.. I guess rear lights are just overrated and unnecessary. go figure.. now I have something to do while waiting on parts. I stripped the covering back to fix it.
![]() I found these two wires just hanging out. anyone know what they are for before I dig thru books?

Alright, I have the wires soldered together and heat shrunk tubing on it and all wrapped up. I keep finding things in here that just makes me wonder..
all fixed up... ![]() Can anyone tell me what this is for?? Its the big item in the middle of the picture with the cable sticking out of it. The cable is not hooked to anything
