rust question

found what looks like a small amount of rust at the edge of the right front fender where it meets the trim piece near the accordion.

is this is a common spot and what should i expect. should i deal with this somehow asap and how? i dont have the $ for professional help so i would have to tackle it myself i guess...

looks like a good spot (being at the edge of the metal) to have a rust issue as opposed to it being somewhere in the middle of the body

Looks like rust started because of a previous repair. If you don't have talent and resources for painting then you might want to leave it alone. Your going to gave to clean the area at least 1/4" up from the seal and at le3ast get a good quality primer/sealer on it. You can clean it with sanding but sand blasting would be much better and last longer.
