Spark Plug Gap with MSD
I have an 87 with MSD ignition and a blaster coil I removed the plugs and they were black so I cleaned them up and want to reinstall them. I know that my car is running rich and will address that too. When I researched the gap I found it should be around .050 I am using the Bosh plugs with the electrode at the side of the center electrode not on top of. When I try to gap the plugs placing the feeler guage between the side and center electrodes the center electrode bends at about .028 and it just does not look right to me. My question is do I use different plugs or gap these at .050 and not worry about the bent electrode? What type of plugs do those that have MSD use? Engine is mostly stock all smog stuff removed B&B Exhaust and as I said MSD K&N air filter
Thanks Mike |

Not 100% sure which wires I read that solid core should not be used with MSD is that correct? All of this was done by PO hopefully he used the proper wires. I just realized posted this in 911 section car is actually a 930

Toss the Boschs and get the equivalent NGK which are easily gapped to .050" or so. You probably want the BPES 5 or maybe 6.

a local pope recommends .040" and is what I go with
but for an MSD, not a Bosch CD
