Bryan,

Here is the most excellent writeup by John about setting up webers. Think of it as cliff notes for the weber book.

Day 356 || Not all TR-415's fit Deep Sixes
13June2012

Tuesday I brought my car to Cantrell Motorsports to have them work their magic on the alignment and balance of the car. But first things first I had to get my new Bridgestone RE960AS tires mounted on my deep 6 Fuchs. While you are in there methodology dictated that I replace the valve stems.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6...-51-22_263.jpg

Tire #1. The valve stem gets torn out and the new valve stem is inserted but won't stay in the hole because of the asymmetric seating in the rim. Long story short we spent some 3 hours calling around to friends & fellow enthusiasts to see if we could track something down with no luck. Turns out these old wheels need a very special TR-415 valve stem with a long neck. You can see in the photo where the Fuchs mate to the valve.

I was really excited at this point....

Here is the trouble. You can see the difference in shaft length and where it engages.

I am trying the local tire store now and I think there might be some stuff on ebay and if all else fails I will try to talk to Al Reed or Harvey...but I am sure they are busy making wheels pretty. I will post my solution when I find it/them. This topic was searched here and on S reg' and lots of discussion going back to 2000 but no real sources for these stems. :/ NAPA was mentioned and Discount Tire.

Discount mounted mine and had the correct stems.

There's some on ebay

TR 415 TIRE VALVE STEM TR415 0.625 MADE IN USA LOT 10 | eBay

and these guys list them
Valve Stems : Tire Shop Supplies, Automotive Equipment, Supplies and Services for Tire Shops including: Car Lifts, Tire changers, Wheel Adapters & Lug Nuts

Thanks MJHanna! Here is a set from Discount...I also have some coming from NAPA ...just to hedge my bets.

Thanks for looking up the links MdR but I think those will not work b/c they taper away from the lip sill rapidly and I am pretty sure I need the .625 diameter to come up from the flange farther and go past the lip seal.
