Bryan - I have at least one oil cooler that has been adapted via TIGed on fitting that will solve your problem.

I went through this not too long ago, and you're going to have a hard-to-impossible time getting metric fittings locally if you need to make a hose.

Or maybe I'm reading this wrong.

I can't help with the 26mm, but I think that I bought a couple spare 30mm to AN fittings so that you can get a custom hose made locally or make an AN hose yourself, or adapt what you have by putting an AN end on it.

I'll look when I get home in a couple hours and let you know what I've got.

Just take both hoses to a hydraulic hose shop and tell them to splice them together...I would be purprised if it cost more than $20 and took more than 20 minutes

This sounds like the easiest option.

If it does come to adapting stuff or making a new hose, I do have the two 30mm to AN-16 adapters in the garage.

I also have to AN-16 straight fittings and a 90 degree.

If any of that would help, let me know and you can come grab them and just replace whatever you use once you get it working.

Thanks guys for the help. I think Bernie may have a hose solution for me?? We will see tonight and I will get back to you all. Kenik...your oil cooler would require me to drop the motor. =/ which I am willing to do...but I am doing this all by myself in the middle of the night ;) ...so I am trying to avoid that and plug and play....

I may have the lines you need, too.

Bryan, You can easily change the oil cooler with a partial engine drop. Just lower the rear of the engine down after removing the two rear fixing bolts. I also loosen the transmission mounting bolts. This gives easy access to the backside of the engine oil cooler tin, and top bolts.

there are only 4 nuts holding it in place. Use a long extension on the lower ones from the wheel well.

that being said, a custom hose will be easier to install.

:)

I just picked up on this old thread............Too bad I didn't find this a long while ago. I have just about every Metric fitting for fuel & oil hoses & lines used by Porsche.

Too late to help Bryan but others may need hose or fittings in the future. I make conversion fittings & hose assys for those installing a late motor into an early 911

Here's a couple of examples............

These are items you cannot get elsewhere. They are custom made to your requirements & dimensions.

Please do not PM me with questions.

eMail is the best way as I can send photos along with details on what I offer.

I don't think it's that old of a thread. It was only a week ago when he was asking about this.

I ran into this problem a while back. Here is my solution. Cut off the end of the "maytag" S hose and attach it to the end of the original reusable hose end.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335540178.jpg

Day 314 || The Push
15May2012

Well I missed an important deadline to have this thing on the road and had to step away from the car to reset (and keep my sanity). I am back working on the car again and I am trying to close the last mechanical/roadworthy details so I can shake her down and get some drives in this summer!

The progress over the last month since my last progress update.

Fenders!

Fuel filler/tank is functional

Turbo Tie Rods

Repacked CV's in

Had to weld some leaky seams and I definitely needed this garish silver exhaust to change color and fit the cars aesthetic
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-K...-21-02_702.jpg

Viola'! I think this looks better
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-a...1-28-17_12.jpg

22/29 install...and my first crack at setting ride height.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-q...-44-53_465.jpg

Might as well tidy up the spring plates while I am in there....

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-U...-40-43_621.jpg

Not bad for a guess from stock bars to big T-bars! I am about one click off from where I want to be.

Day 314 || The Push
15May2012

Some more progress...The best part is that I got the H4's/horn and fog power to work last night! Pretty excited the electrical on the car is still intact...

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-R...-12-58_702.jpg

My nightmare tonight...I can NOT get this dang fiberglass S bumper to fit worth a dam&. 3+ hours of removing/reinstalling/removing. I think I have to grind the lip off of the top to get it to flush up against the seals. I have to fab brackets now that the battery boxes are gone and I can't do that until this is fitted in place.

Oh, I guess I should share the first start up once my buddy and I got the motor in last month. The 2.7 starts right up even cold and has been smoking less and less each warm up test run.

Good job on the progress! Is that muffler a weld up or? Where's the bumper from?

Thanks! The muffler came with the car....All I did was weld up the seam welds...somehow it was starting to separate and it was leaking exhaust.

The front bumper is also of unknown origin...and was painted the wrong color but I will be rolling rat rod for a while so I can deal....

Rich Lambert 05-16-2012 09:48 AM

Dude, that's some serious progress!

Thanks Rich! I was highly disappointed I missed the trip but I didn't want to break somewhere hundreds of miles from home ;) I talked to Dave @ TRE and it sounds like Teds car is fixed.

I need to check out your car again....is your roll bar from TRE? I am going back and forth on fabricating a roll bar here or just getting it from TRE.

RWebb 05-16-2012 11:08 AM

where did you buy that FG front bumper/spoiler?

No, you don't want to break down hundreds of miles (like say, 12 hundred) from home.

My roll bar is from TRE and Chris added the harness bar pieces. Come over and look at it...ride the Duc over on Sunday and then head to the Snohomish Motorcycle Show, Sky Valley Antique and Classic if you've never been, it's a cool event and it might not rain.
